I have always liked leaf patterns and the way they make the lines meander and form waves. Like a slow sauntering through the woods, no hurry and no purpose, a perfect relaxation and delight of all the senses.

The shawl was created in view of such strolls, as a perfect way of topping up the picture.

It is a perfectly reversible shawl, the knit and purl stitches form a pattern that looks different on each side and after the shawl is finished and blocked, it is difficult to say which is the right side and which the wrong one.

Construction – the shawl is worked in one piece, starting with a provisional cast on in the centre of the shawl. It is adjustable in both width and length, and can be customized by using different yarns and needle sizes.

Yarn – lace to fingering. My shawl was done with Holst Garn Supersoft (50g = 315yards/287m) and I used 125g = 790yards/720m to obtain a shawl that measures 15 ½’/39cm by 72’/182cm.

Level - you need to know how to do provisional cast on and pick up stitches, otherwise, the pattern is very intuitive (once you get the hang of it after a few rows).

Od zawsze podobają mi się wzory w listki i listeczki, tak się wiją i plotą, i przy okazji tworzą falujące linie. I właśnie szal Adelinka wykorzystuje i podkreśla te wszystkie przymioty.

Szal jest całkowicie dwustronny, dzięki oczkom prawym i lewym powstają dwa odrębne wzory, podobne, a jednak wyraźnie odmienne. Widać to lepiej po zblokowaniu szala, zatraca się wtedy rozróżnienie na stronę ‘wierzchnią’ i ‘spodnią’ robótki.

Konstrukcja – dzierganie rozpoczyna się od środka szala przy pomocy prowizorycznego nabierania oczek (provisional cast on), a następnie dzierga się w obie strony według tego samego układu. Zarówno szerokość jak i długość szala mogą być indywidualnie dostosowane do potrzeb dziewiarki.

Włóczka – lace do fingering, czyli 800 – 400/500m w 100g. Mój szal powstał z Holst Garn Supersoft (100g = 575m) i zużyłam 125g/720m na szal o wymiarach 39 x 182cm (85o i 10 powtórzeń wzoru głównego).

Poziom - pewne doświadczenie w robieniu ażurów, wzór jest intuicyjny ale może być za trudny dla początkującej dziewiarki, umiejętność prowizorycznego nabierania oczek i rozpoczynania z niego wzoru.
