In May on Bainbridge Island, we’re just starting to see the wildflowers. Whip up a few of these vase cozies now though, and you’ll be ready for those spontaneous bouquets that come home with you all summer long. You’ll just need a few jars from “that” cabinet in your kitchen.

SAMPLE SHOWN
Shown in colors Downy, Terrapin, Pop Rocks, and
Sweetie.

SIZES
One Size

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
Approx. 9.5” circumference, to fit a 10-11”
circumference wide mouth pint jar.
(Note that the height of this piece is easily adjustable if
your jar is bigger than a pint.)

YARN REQUIREMENTS
Please note these are yarn estimates. The amount used will depend on yarn, your personal gauge, and any modifications you make.
1 skein(s) The Lamb & Kid Kiddo in either put-up
(220 yds/50g or 437 yds/100g).
Or use a few colors of Kiddo and plan several vases
and some scrappy socks.
Each vase cover for a standard pint jar will use
approx. 60 yards in total.

SUGGESTED HOOK
US E (3.5mm) crochet hook.

TOOLS
Darning needle, locking marker, wide mouth pint jar
(or other).

GAUGE
17 stitches = 4” in single crochet, blocked.
Exact gauge is not critical for this project, but you do
want to achieve a fabric that holds its shape when
pulled around your jar.
