This wide openwork stole is certainly suitable for summer evenings, but if you knit it with heavier and thicker wool it will keep you warm even in winter. I knitted it many years ago thinking of a dear friend, Adriana, a sister, who loved this kind of accessory and Istanbul more than any other city in the world. I found this beautiful knitting stitch in an old book under the name “Turkish stitch” so I dedicated it to her.
My stole measures 200x70 cm, but you can easily change the size by following the instructions on the pattern. I used 6 skeins of 50 gr. of thin Sibillana (300mt./100gr.) in 3 different colors for a total of 300 gr. of yarn, but you may use any yarn that gives the same sample sizes. Questa ampia stola è molto traforata, quindi adatta anche alle serate estive, ma se la farai con della buona lana ti terrà caldo anche nelle serate invernali. L’ho fatta molti anni fa pensando a una cara amica, una sorella, che amava questo tipo di accessorio. Adriana amava Istambul più di ogni altra città e io trovai questo punto su un vecchio libro col nome di “Punto Turco” così gliela dedicai. La mia stola misura 200 cm x 70, ma potrai modificare facilmente le dimensioni, seguendo le indicazioni del pattern. Ho usato 6 matasse da gr. 50 di Sibillana sottile (300mt./100gr.) in 3 sfumature di colore diverse, per un totale di 300 gr. di filato, ma tu potrai usare qualsiasi filato dia le stesse misure di campione.
