Adult Owl Hat
This is a pattern for an adult size knitted owl hat
The eyes for this hat are crocheted however I do suggest in the pattern that you can use felt instead if you can’t crochet, or if you can knit circles that would work too!
You will need about 3/4 of a skein of King Cole Big Value Super Chunky for the main colour of the hat. You will need under a 1/3 of a skein for the contrasting colour, and for the black eyes you need just scraps. The beak is knitted with DK yarn and 4mm needles, and to crochet the eyes you will need 6mm crochet hook
If you want to knit the hat to fit a child rather than an adult just cast on 48 instead of 52, knock off 2 stitches at each end of every row on the pattern, and begin your decreases at row 15. (untested suggestion as of 18 Jan 2015)
