Both a knit sole and sueded sole are detailed in this pattern along with the suede sole templates to cut your own. If making the suede sole versiun, you need:
-leather hand hole puncher
-suede and sheep shearling
-Card stock to trace templates
-heavy duty scissors
-Low Odour Contact Cement
-Artificial Sinew (optional)
I sell pre-cut soles in my Etsy Shop!
You will work the sole first, and then pick up stitches with a small crochet hook. Then you will work from the bottom - up, finishing at the ankle cuff and then Binding Off using a stretchy bind off technique. Youtube video links are given for many steps along the way.
For the suede sole option, you will work a row of Single Crochet and Chains in the holes of the suedes, and then use the crochet hook to pick up stitches and slide them onto your circular needles. The pattern continues upward from there and follows the same instructions as the Knit sole version.
