This is a pick and mix adventure Advent calendar released in three parts so no one finishes too early. It’s long and can seem complicated. If your tolerance is low for experimental knitting then I suggest you choose something else.

There are cables, knit and purl, garter, lacework, border edgings and shawl-making.

This year’s calendar is the fourth one I have produced. One pattern is knit each day so you can get to the end of Advent and have a shawl ready. I will be posting the patterns in three stages, every 8 days.

This year, some days have more than one pattern so you can pick and mix, effectively, in order to have your own unique-ish shawl. I have also included a pattern or two from previous years. The stitch counts add up to each day’s pattern beginning and end so it all matches up. Feel free to add in previous years’ day patterns.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together. (I hope you stress less though!)

The final complete pattern will be released at the end of Advent so you can have everything in one place.
