This pattern is for all 25 Christmas Decorations and also includes printable templates for the advent calendar boxes. The patterns are written in American crochet terms and contain lots of photos to help you every step of the way.

I have included the patterns for 25 decorations rather than 24… This is just to give you a little bit of choice so if you are making them to go inside the advent calendar boxes, you can choose your favourite 24 designs to make.

The 24 advent boxes are intended to either be hung on the tree (and then replaced by the contents of the box, after it has been opened), or they can be hung on a string as a garland as shown.

You will need:

Yarn of your choice. The size of your decorations will turn out bigger or smaller depending on the weight of yarn & the hook size that you choose to use. If you are intending to use the supplied template to make boxes to put your decorations into, you should use dk or aran weight yarn (equivalent to light worsted weight yarn) with a 4mm hook or smaller. With yarn that is any thicker than this, the decorations are likely to be too big for the boxes.

You will need the following colours (all in the same weight yarn):
Red, green, black, white, yellow, brown, beige, pale pink & orange.

A small amount of toy stuffing.

Sequins or beads to decorate your Christmas tree & wreath decorations (this step is optional).

A pipe cleaner for the Candy Cane decoration.

Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and a couple of stitch markers.
