Adventaceous
The Adventaceous Wrap is knit from side to side, starting at a point and increasing. Throughout the increase, you will increase 3 stitches on the left side for every 2 on the right side. After the increase section, the wrap continues straight in decreases along the edge, offsetting the continued increases along the off-centered line. A simple picot bind off is used to complete the wrap.
Texture of the wrap is created through garter stitch, small sections of stockinette stitch, and a simple lace section. The Adventaceous Wrap may be knit with a single color; however, it is designed specifically for advents with mini skeins. Pattern is written for 12 minis + 1 full size skein of yarn; however, you can continue in pattern with 24 minis if you have a full advent of mini skeins. Each repeat is approximately 4” long.
Colors
Since this is designed for mini advent calendars, your color choices can be either a mystery, starting from day one going forward, or you can choose from your stash. If trying to create a cohesive fade, it is recommended you choose 13 colors that coordinate with one another. You may choose semi solids to semi solids with speckles that help blend one color to the next as shown with the sample knit out of Yarn Café Creations. If you are working with a full advent set of 24 skeins you may continue with each of your minis until it’s desired length or the end!
DK weight version is knit using 4 skeins of yarn (Less Traveled Yarn DK weight and Hue Loco Merino DK). It uses approximately 46 yards per repeat.
