Adventagious Cowl
What is more fun than a barrel of monkeys? A pile of minis!
Adventagious Cowl was designed as an Advent project, meant to make the best use of a 50 g skein of a main colour and 24 delightful mini skeins. If your leftover sock yarns are plentiful, it’s a great way to turn them into something wearable. Or go for a completely different look with one main colour and only one background colour.
You’ll need one 50g skein of a solid or semi-solid Koigu main colour, and 24 skeinettes/mini-skeins or a total of 264 y/240 m of any fingering weight yarns.
Actual yarn amounts in the skeinettes specified varies quite a lot - from 13-19 y/12-17 m in the sample. These are really “micro-skeins”. The CC sections were designed to use yarn conservatively to allow for slight differences in gauge, meaning if you match gauge you should have a small amount of each colour left over. The MC yarn is used in it’s entirety - a check-in point is given in the pattern where you have the option to leave out a section so as to not run out before completing the bottom edging. In all cases, do not leave overly generous yarn tails - 3-4 in/7-10 cm is sufficient.
The project is worked in the round for 2/3 of the length then 1/3 is worked flat followed by the edging which is again worked in the round.
