Adventssockan is knitted from the toe and up, with a short row heel, stripes on the foot and Latvian braids and a pattern on the calf, finished with a twisted rib and Italian bind off. You choose size depending on your width around the foot and adjust the length according to your own foot’s length.

Adventssockan is perfect if you have a yarn calendar with fingering sock yarn, where you can choose to knit with two colors, or to mix multiple colors in your socks, if so you can make the stripes in different colors, the stranded in another or even change the main color as you knit.

My hope with this sock is that it will bring you some calm and joyful knitting in December, resulting in a beautiful sock to wear on Christmas Eve, or why not give it to someone you care about.

This sock comes in three sizes, where you measure your width around the foot, and thereafter adjusts the length according to your own foot.

The gauge is in stockinette stitch and should be the same whether you knit in stockinette stitch or stranded work, therefore you may have to switch needle size. The needle sizes are a recommendation but to get the accurate gauge you may have to use other sizes of your needles to meet your own knitting tension.
