Adventurer
Adventurer is a two-loop infinity cowl worked in the round. The technique used in this pattern is simple, yet it requires your attention and following the directions carefully to prevent tangling of the yarn. However, if this happens, simply cut the yarn and re-join it, instead of frogging your work. You won’t need to cut the yarn while working, but you will have to use two skeins at the same time and alternate them as written in the instructions.
MATERIALS
- Yarn: Platinum Sock by Blissful Knits; fingering; 438 yd (401 m) per 100 g skein; 50% superwash merino, 50% silk
- Hook: US C/2 (3 mm)
- Yarn needle to weave in ends
YARDAGE
- 2 skeins in shade Sea Green
GAUGE
- 18 sts in ribbing st patt = 4’’ (10 cm)
- One pattern repeat over rnds (one cable and two ribbing rnds) = 1⅛’’ (3 cm)
An exact gauge is not crucial for this design. The measurements listed below are only guidelines and you can make this cowl smaller or larger by working fewer or more pattern repeats (subtract or add 10 sts to base rnd for each pattern repeat to change width). Bear in mind that in this case, your yardage requirements and finished dimensions will change.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
- Two-loop infinity cowl: 54¾’’ (139 cm) in circumference, worn as 27⅜ (69.5 cm) due to looping, 9⅞’’ (25 cm) tall
- One-loop cowl: 26¼’’ (66.5 cm) in circumference, 19¼’’ (49 cm) tall
