A stunning shawl with a beautiful heart shaped stitch pattern. This light and airy shawl will definitely become a firm favourite. The heart nupps and bands of open lacework make this a truly special design. Using less than a single skein of laceweight yarn, this is quick to knit and perfect gifting material.

Ae Fond Kiss is a poem by Robert Burns, Scotland’s most famous poet. It tells of his heartbreak after one of his many loves moved from Scotland to Jamaica to be with her estranged husband.

Suggested Yarn: Dye for Yarn MerSiCash Lace (70% Merino Wool, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere) 1050 m/1148 yds per 75g skein.

You may find it hard to work the heart nupps in Lace Pattern 2 with a very fluffy laceweight yarn (e.g. mohair blends) or a heavier weight yarn. We recommend including Lace Pattern 2 in your swatch to check your yarn before you start knitting the full shawl pattern.
