These doll clothes were inspired by Aerith from the Final Fantasy VII Remake!

The dress is worked bottom up from a provisional cast-on. Pleats are made at the waist, then the bodice of the dress is completed. The provisional cast-on is then removed and a garter lace edging is done at the bottom of the dress.

The boots are made top-down, using a standard heel flap and gusset technique which is fully explained in the instructions.

The jacket is worked top-down from the back neck edge. Raglan increases are made for the arms.

Finished Size: Sized to fit the Heartilly Doll, which is 18” tall. Here are the sizes of the individual pieces, in case you want to make these clothes for a commercial doll:

Dress - 11” long, 14” circumference around waist
Boots - 7” foot circumference, 4.5” long from toes to heel
Jacket - 4.5” tall, 2” neck opening across back, 12” circumference around bottom edge.

Note about needle size
The designer is a very loose knitter, and used US 3 (3.25mm) needles. Most average knitters will have to go up in needle size to get the same gauge. I recommend trying the needle size that is recommended by the ball band on your yarn.

Measurements in the pattern are given in both Imperial and Metric units, as well as absolute number of rounds/rows to knit.

Techniques and Terms Used

• CO – Cast On
• BO – Bind Off
• M1R – Make One Right: Pick up the bar between stitches and place it on the left needle from back to front so it is backwards of regular stitch mount; knit this through the front loop
• M1L – Make One Left: Pick up the bar between stitches and place it on the left needle from front to back (mounted like a regular stitch); knit this through the back loop
• DPNs – Double-pointed needles
• BOR – Beginning of round
• PM – Place Marker
• K – Knit
• P – Purl
• K2tog – Knit two stitches together
• SSK – slip two stitches separately as if to knit, then knit those stitches through the back loop
• P2Tog - Purl two together
• Kitchener – a way of grafting live stitches together
• Provisional Cast On – You can use any provisional cast on you like. I used the Crochet Cast-On
