Watching, silently studying. Observing, absorbing—small details in many things. The manner in which each ray of sunlight changes shades as it slips into the horizon, elongating and emphasizing barren branches. A beautiful stillness found in granite’s flecks of sparkling mica, or the faded fieldflowers dried brown and still holding their petals at meadow’s edge. Such intricacy and wonder, intertwined and covering the world like an aged ivy plant climbing an old brick building.

Hat is worked in the round from the bottom up. Top of hat is grafted, then flipped inside out and folded like a paper bag. Visual instructions included in pattern.
