African Drum Hat
I was looking through online art museums at African art, admiring the lines, angles, shapes. I saw some photos of carved drums and liked the angles and lines of the carving. I’ve tried to capture that in this hat.
Apologies to genuine African artists! I’m no artist, but I get inspired by the work of genuine artists and love trying to reproduce their ideas or themes in wool. Consider this a sign of admiration. I like the way the horizontal and vertical lines create hidden rectangles on the diagonal in this chart.
This pattern, as described, makes a 20” hat. For a larger or smaller hat, adjust the size of the needles and yarn. If you need help figuring it out, send me a message via Ravelry and I will figure it out for you. I’ll need your gauge with your desired yarn and needles, plus the desired circumference of the hat you want to make.
I used two colors, a 50-gram skein of each. I had about 1/3 of each skein left over.
