African Flower Conure
NOTE: This listing is for a digital PDF PATTERN ONLY. This is NOT a finished product. This is a CROCHET PATTERN written in ENGLISH ONLY and uses standard US terms. Refunds are not available on this item.
The finished bird, when worked in 4ply yarn, will measure approximately 11cm high and 18cm beak to tail. This will of course vary with weights of yarn and hook/tension. For a larger bird work in double knit, aran or chunky but the results may not be the same.
YOU ARE BUYING THE PATTERN NOT THE ITEM
This pattern is fairly easy to follow but requires basic crochet knowledge. It is written in US terms but easy to convert to UK.
It is worked in African Flower shapes with instructions in both graph and written form with photographs and handy hints to follow for assembly.
For this Conure I used 10g Scheepjes Catona yarn in 189 Royal Orange, 281 Tangerine,, 208 Yellow Gold, 205 Kiwi, 527 Midnight a scrap of 110 Jet Black and 25g of 522 Primrose although you won’t need all of the yarn for one bird. You can obviously use
any colours or brand you fancy but the results will be different. You can make this in any weight yarn, but use the smallest hook you can manage, but again the size of the end result will differ. Mercerised cotton type yarn prevents too much stretch so the stuffing doesn’t show plus it isn’t fluffy so the pattern of the African Flower shape shows more clearly. Scheepjes Catona is my all time favourite yarn for these birds.
I used a 2mm crochet hook, a long darning needle, toy stuffing 9mm safety eyes, stitch markers and dressmakers pins.
