The finished duck, when worked in 4ply yarn, will measure approximately 15cm high and 20cm beak to tail. This will of course vary with weights of yarn and hook/tension. For a larger duck work in double knit, aran or chunky.

I am unable to say how much yarn is needed in total as it will vary with each person. But to give you a guide you will need (in four ply) 30g of light and dark grey, 15g of yellow, green and brown and 10g of white. A scrap of black for detail is all you need otherwise, plus a 2.5mm hook. You’ll also need stuffing, safety eyes, scissors and a tapestry needle.

This pattern is easy to follow but does require basic crochet knowledge of single, double and treble crochet and the ability to work a magic ring. Everything is easily learnt from Youtube if you are not 100% sure. It is written in US terms but easily converted to UK terms.

It is worked in African Flower shapes with instructions in written form with photographs and handy hints to follow for assembly.
