Materials

All weights are approximate and will vary depending on the brand of yarn you choose and how tightly you crochet.

For this Snowman I used:

Chunky yarn for the hat
Black 60g
Red 20g
If you prefer you could use 2 strands of double-knit at the same time instead of a chunky yarn.

Aran for the scarf, mittens and arms
Red 70g
Brown 40g

Double knit Sparkle yarn for the body and head.
White 120g
Grey 25g

Double-knit for the nose, buttons, holly and berries
Black 5g
Green 5g
Orange 20g
Red 5g
Brown 10g- robin
White 5g- robin
Light brown-tiny amount for robin beak.

Safety eyes 24mm
2 x 15cm/5.9inches Cardboard disc for the top of the hat and base of the snowman.
Toy stuffing.

Optional
A weight. I use small concrete blocks or large pebbles.

Abbreviations
This pattern is written in English but uses US terms
ch = chain stitch
Sc = single crochet
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
Tr = treble crochet
inc = increase 2 stitches in one stitch
dec = Decrease. (crochet 2 stitches together)
FLO = work in the front loop only
BLO = work in the back loop only

The finished Snowman, will measure approximately 55cm in height.
This will of course vary with weights of yarn and hook/tension.

This pattern is easy to follow but requires basic crochet knowledge.
It is written in US terms but easy to convert to UK.

The pattern contains both written and picture instructions.
