African Wild Dog
The African Wild Dog (also known as the African Painted Dog or African Hunting Dog) is the largest wild canid species in Africa. It is widely distributed throughout sub-Saharan Africa, though habitat destruction and fragmentation has significantly reduced its numbers. These extremely social canids live in close-knit packs of up to 27 individuals, and communicate through a combination of sneezes and high-pitched “chirps”.
The 35 page pattern includes detailed step-by-step photos and clear written instructions to make an amigurumi-style African Wild Dog. PLUS there is a 13 page printer-friendly TEXT ONLY version at the end of the pattern. This pattern has been fully tested by multiple testers. Includes yarn amounts and hook sizes to make an African Wild Dog using worsted weight yarn.
Recommended for INTERMEDIATE SKILL LEVEL. This pattern uses basic crochet stitches and more complex stitches (detailed in the pattern glossary).
A finished African Wild Dog made using Worsted Weight yarn is approximately 13” long from nose to rump, 11” tall from foot to ear, and 4” wide from shoulder to shoulder.
