This cowl came about as a way to showcase a rainbow of mini-skeins. The two sides remind me of the delight of seeing rainbows in a dull sky after it has stopped raining.

This is a simple pattern which uses brioche rib. The Russian join technique is recommended for neat colour joins and to minimise the number of ends which need darning in at the end.

Yarn
The Knitting Goddess Britsock (4ply weight; 40% Bluefaced Leicester, 20% Wensleydale, 20% alpaca, 20% nylon); 400 m/437 yds per 100g skein): 1 x 120g set of mini skeins and 1 x 100g skein in a strongly contrasting semi-solid colour. Cowl shown is worked in Semi-Solid Charcoal (colour A) and Printer Ink Shades (colour B).

The cowl could also be worked in two strongly contrasting semi-solid colours. You will need
1 x 100g skein of each colour.
