Afternoon in Napa
This shawl was named “Afternoon in Napa” because the stitch pattern reminds me of the beauty of luscious grape vines growing on trellises in a scenic vineyard.
The mesh stitch pattern is made by repeating an easy two-row repeat after you do the set up and a couple rows. And, there is no need to count stitches or rows.
The stitch pattern forms neat straight horizontal and vertical lines with another row meandering up and down along every other horizontal line, that reminds me of grape vines growing on the trellises all in neat rows. And, thinking of this, I designed a pom pom trim around the angled edges of the shawl to include the look of grapes.
No worries though on color, you do not have to use green yarn. This shawl will look gorgeous in any color of yarn! The shawl is light and airy and big enough to wrap up in, or wear as a scarf.
It’s perfect for an Afternoon in Napa, a night out, or where ever you choose to go. And while your are crocheting the shawl, you can enjoy a bit of good wine and enjoy the peaceful and relaxing Napa-inspired stitch pattern.
