The Afternoon Tea hat features a cabled motif on a field of reverse stockinette, intended to create a graphic element that highlights the beauty of a hand dyed yarn.

The flecks of indigo in the speckled Kokon Bleu yarn remind me of the cornflower petals found in some teas, like the Gracia blend I enjoyed in Barcelona years ago. The heaviness of the Aran weight is extra warm and cozy, like a good cup of tea on a cold, grey afternoon.

I designed and knit Afternoon Tea while sipping many cups of tea, on many winter days, often in front of the fire. I hope knitting one keeps you warm and cozy too. Enjoy.
