Against the Grain Shawlette
Wander through the woods. Birds chirrup and sing. A pair of squirrels chase each other through the leaves. You sit on a fallen tree and raise your face to the sun. Your fingers trace the knots running up the trunk, focusing on the sensations of smooth and rough beneath your fingertips. You breath deep and find your stress rolls away. A quiet peace surrounds you, soft and strong.
I loved the meditative quality of knitting the Against the Grain Shawlette. A beautiful cable twists and curls up the side. The instructions are both charted and written, but you won’t need them for long as it’s easy to memorize. Made with only two skeins, this long and skinny shawl is the perfect accent for changing seasons and a piece you’ll be reaching for again and again.

Yarn
550 yds/505 m of DK weight yarn - I recommend a round yarn (3 plies or more) for a crisp cable.

Remember! Weight and yardage recommendation are a well calculated starting point. Both are effected by many factors like fiber type, spin, ply, and more, so be sure to give yourself some wiggle room!
