AGAS
AGAS stands for ‘Any Gauge, Any Size’ and it truly is.
This pattern relies on head measurements and information provided by swatching.
Both photos were created with a single skein of yarn.
- Purple hat created with single skein of 5ply crepe yarn.
- Grey & blue hat created with single skein equivalent of 8ply yarn.
Included in the pattern is a printer-friendly math page to work out your cast on, and row count. This is set out on a single page, step by step.
There is also 5 images included to describe some options that may help you when you choose how to construct your hat.
AGAS will give you a square/rectangle, beanie style hat that has predominant ‘cat ears’. I think they are cute, but I know they are not everyone’s cup of tea! I am working on an ‘in the round’ version as you read.
I truly hope you have as much fun making this, as I did creating it! There is a little bit of maths, but nothing a smart phone can’t help you out with :)
The only limit to this pattern is your imagination! Whatever pattern, yarn and hook combo you can come up with can be worked out.
There is also a knit version of this pattern that I am sample knitting currently, and it will become available, as soon as it has gone through a testing stage. You will be able to purchase it on it’s own, or in an e-book/multi purchase with this crochet version. If you choose to purchase the crochet version now, you will automatically get the knit version at a discounted price if you wish.
