AGIRA - a lovely lady’s jumper in cotton or linen/cotton in a pattern inspired from the Aran-sweaters. Plain knitting in reverse with large diamonds - different “filling” from the back diamond to the front one. The sleeves as well are not in the same knitting - one in moss sts and the other one in plain knitting in reverse. The borders are all in plain and plain in reverse rows alternately. The pattern is a written pattern with charts. Worked flat.
This model is suitable for all age groups.
Required skill level from 1 (basic) to 5 (advanced): 3↑.
The measurements given throughout the pattern are all in cm as well as inches.
Sizes in the pattern: small - medium - large - xlarge
Measurements of the garment:
Bust: 84 cm - 94 cm - 105 cm - 116 cm (in: 33 - 37 - 41½ - 45¾)
Length: 57 cm - 58 cm - 62 cm - 64 cm (in: 22½ - 22¾ - 24½ - 25¼)
Yarn: this model calls for a linen/cotton blend, 50 g = ca. 80 meters. To use in total 450 - 550 - 650 - 700 g.
The original model was made in Lino Cotone 1/7000, 50 % linen/50 % cotton (worked with 3 strands), from Campolmi Roberto Filati in Florence, Italy.
Also suitable in an aran-weight cotton.
Needles: No 4 and 4½ mm.
Tension/gauge in plain knitting: 17 sts on needles no 4½ mm = 10 cm (4 in).
Suggestions of yarn alternatives: ROWAN Creative Linen, Fibra Natura Good Earth.
