The Agnesse shawl features big diamonds in garter stitch and a broad decorative band in double knitting. It is worked from the bottom up in one continuous piece.

The shawl appears intentionally worn-out, featuring rough stitches at the color transitions, loose threads, gaps, and occasional mistakes. It seems to belong to a bygone era, much like Agnesse, who was executed as a witch in 1610. Of course, you can also knit the shawl without such imperfections.

The shawl is part of the Agnesse bundle, together with a jacket and a cowl. In turn, Agnesse is part of MICCA, a collection that pays tribute to the many victims of the witch persecution. In Europe alone, more than 100,000 alleged witches were burned at the stake. Agnesse was one of the victims. Together with five other women, she was strangled and burned on a hill in Ellezelles, a small village in Hainaut, Belgium, on October 26, 1610.

The double knitting at the top provides durability to your shawl, ensuring it stays securely on your shoulders. The elongated garland motif is eye-catching and creates a bold contrast with the diamonds. The shawl can be worn on both sides for added convenience.
