Get set to sail the seven seas with Ahoy, Sailor, a fine-gauge sweater with striped sleeves, a slimming shape, and an adorable nautical collar. This cool cotton sweater has great waist shaping and a shortened middy to give a nod to sailors of yore without looking costume-y. Striping inside the cuffs and bottom hem are small details that will have a big impact.

Ed. note: some errata snuck its way in between editing and printing. Curses! Changes are as follows:

Front
Start neck and armhole shaping: BO off 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) sts at the beginning of next 2 rows, BO 0 (2, 2, 3, 3) sts at the beginning of next 2 rows, then 1 stitch every other side a total of 9 (8, 9, 9, 10) times. AT THE SAME TIME, decrease 1 stitch on both side of neck every 4 rows at total of 6 (8, 8, 14, 15) times. So, for the first row: BO 4 sts, knit to 3 sts before marker, K2TOG, K1. Attach new ball to work both sides of the neck at the same time. K1, SSK, K to end.

Sleeves
Begin sleeve cap shaping:
BO 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows, 3 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows, 2 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows, and then 1 st every side every 4th row until 30, (36, 44, 48, 54) sts remain. BO 3 sts at the beg of next 8 rows. BO rem 8 (12, 20, 24, 30) sts.
