I used DK weight yarn and US#6 needles because I knit loosely. Also this hat was suggested as a chemo hat for a friend. Yarn is super soft and seems very appropriate for a delicate sensitive skin.

I enjoyed Rialto DK yarn very much. Now want to make a sweater in the same yarn. Stitch definition is very good because yarn is a very good quality.

If you need to substitute - any DK weight yarn in Merino wool will work. Send me any questions. We test knitted it a few times… but you never know, mistakes happen!
