I created this cowl with a local natural yarn from Normandy called Laines à l’Ouest that was created by a collective of sheperdess. Their sheeps are raised outside in the beautiful landscapes of Normandy that was the inspiration for their first naturally hand-dyed serie. So I wanted to pay a tribute to these sheeps and their lands, and to me when I think of the landscapes of Normandy, with deep green prairies and salty wind, I always see the heron birds gracefully
inhabiting these lands, ready to fly away with the next breeze.
The cowl is worked in the round from the bottom up. It starts and ends with a few rounds of ribbing and is worked in a 2-color stranded pattern. If you wish for a larger cowl, you can easily add more repeats of the pattern.

J’ai créé ce col avec une laine naturelle normande de la marque Laine à l’Ouest créée par un collectif d’éleveuses.
Leurs moutons sont élevés en plein air dans les beaux paysages normands qui ont inspiré leur première série de laines teintes à la main avec des plantes. Alors j’ai eu envie de rendre hommage à ces moutons et leurs terres, et pour moi, quand je pense à la Normandie, avec ses prairies vertes balayées par le vent salé, j’imagine toujours un joli échassier qui les habite, prêt à s’envoler avec la prochaine brise.
Le col est tricoté en rond de bas en haut. Il commence et se termine avec une portion de côtes et est tricoté en jacquard à deux couleurs. Si vous souhaitez faire un col plus large, vous pouvez ajouter des répétitions du motif.
