Is anyone else relieved to see gray skies in the fall? I know I am! Looking at Fresh Water– a limited-edition Pro-Verbial colorway– for the first time, gave me the same sensation, like I could finally hunker down after a long season in the sun. The alpaca in the yarn is naturally a silvery gray.Accented with swaths of deep indigo, the color evokes misty mornings, leaves crunching underfoot, and drinking herbal tea on rainy days.
Meet Aitos, a simple and feminine shawl in lustrous Floating. This pattern takes advantage of the yarn’s natural sheen and drape. The slipped stitches help the shawl hold its shape, and add a paint-brush effect to the indigo colorway.Towards the end, these slip-stitch stripes begin to meander into a simple little lace motif.
Aitos has something for everyone; a great pattern for novice lace knitters, that can still hold the attention of old pros.As lacy and soft as Aitos is, it can still be thrown over your jacket, bandana-like, for a more modern, fuss-free look.
The shawl is started with a garter tab cast-on, and worked in a slip-stitch pattern from the center top downwards, increasing on the sides and along the center panel. The lace section is charted.
