Akame
Akame is an asymmetrical triangular shawl worked sideways from one end to the other. It has a garter stitch body and features a beautiful lace edging along one side of the shawl. Then the lace edging is expanded across the bottom of the shawl.
Yarn
Miss Babs Tarte (75% Superwash Merino Wool, 15% Nylon, 10% Tencel; 500 yd/4.3 oz (457m/122g) skeins) 2 skeins shown in Corset.
Or 800 yards/732 meters fingering weight yarn.
For best results when working with hand dyed yarns we strongly suggest alternating skeins of the same color throughout your project.
Finished Measurements
68 1/2”/174 cm wide and 26 1/2”/67 cm deep
Needles
US 6 4 mm circular needle, 40”/102 cm, or size to obtain gauge.
Gauge
Blocked: 19 Stitches and 34 Rows = 4”/10 cm square in garter stitch.
Unblocked: 23 Stitches and 48 Rows = 4”/10 cm square in garter stitch.
Gauge is not crucial for this project, but will affect yardage and finished size if different from above.
