Imagining the serene flow and quiet power of a river, Akarsu creates a rhythmic pattern that mirrors the river’s endless journey. Eyelet Garter borders flow around short rows like water over smooth stones, and the scarf grows organically, echoing the natural curves and meanders of a stream. Subtle shifts of colors evoke the changing depths of the water. Akarsu is more than just a scarf: it’s a connection to nature, a reminder of the peaceful strength that lies within the steady, unhurried passage of time.
Akarsu means stream or watercourse in Turkish.

NOTES
Akarsu is worked flat with 2 colors that alternate in each section.
Starting with an Eyelet Garter border, the work continues with short rows to form the wavy eyelet borders. These sections alternate, then worked again with reversing the color order.

The work continues on the bias by casting on new stitches to the left side of the work, and binding off the stitches on the right side in each Sliding Eyelet Border section.
