Alaska is design #7 in my All American collection of beanies.

It’s no surprise that Alaska is one of the snowiest of all 50 states. With 1/3 of the state above the Arctic Circle, dozens of mountain peaks over 10,000 feet, and winters with very little sunlight…you’re going to have a lot of snow! Living with so much snow has its challenges, but it sure is beautiful! Whether it’s blanketing the landscape, turning trees into frozen sculptures, or gently floating to the ground, there’s nothing quite like the beauty and artistry of an individual snowflake that makes it all seem magical!

A hint of sparkle, stylized snowflakes, and a fun-to-knit texture that resembles tiny snowflakes create a design that captures the chill and beauty of snow in a warm and cozy hat. A fold-over ribbing adds extra warmth.

Yarn used in sample:

Stunning String Studio Twinkle DK: Natural (75g/ 173yd./ 158 m)
Malabrigo Rios: Cosmos (33 g/ 71 yd./ 65 m)

Or any other worsted weight* yarn (#4) in two colors

Important: Although this yarn (Twinkle) is DK weight, it worked up like a worsted weight for me. I chose it for the sparkle. If you use a different brand of DK, be sure to check your gauge as it may not work up the same. You can also use a natural or white worsted weight without the sparkle.

The amount of color A listed does include enough for a large pom-pom.
