A great pattern for your first attempt at lace shawl knitting!

Albanetta Crescent is a simple yet attractive crescent shape shawl that combines plain stockinette with a delicate and very feminine lace border.

It is part of the Albanetta set, which includes two shawls featuring the same lace border. The other shawl is triangular, and it is called Albanetta Triangle, of course.

The pattern is easily adjustable in size by adding more repeats to both stockinette and lace border sections. The proportions between the two parts are not rigid and can be freely changed and adapted according to needs.

The shawl is started with a few stitches and then the volume is built up in every row. No short rows!

Any yarn from fingering to DK weight will look good on the shawl. Consequently, needles should be adapted to the yarn used and the degree of lacy effect that you desire to achieve. I personally prefer to knit lace with larger size needles to get it really lacy.

Pictured shawl was knitted with Alpaca Drops sport / 5 ply on US 5 – 3,75mm needles. I used almost 150g (495m / 540 yards) to obtain a shawl that measures approx. 46 x 208cm/18 x 82” blocked.

Albanetta Rogalik to prosta w wykonaniu, a jednocześnie atrakcyjna chusta, która łączy gładką i prostą część jerseyową z delikatną i kobiecą bordiurą.

Każda z tych części może być kontynuowana dowolną ilość powtórzeń, dowolne są też proporcje pomiędzy nimi – wszystko zależy od potrzeb i preferencji dziewiarki.

Chusta zaczyna się od kilku oczek, a potem w każdym rzędzie dodawane są następne. Nie ma rzędów skróconych :)

Matematyczny, geometryczny, przewidywalny ażur tworzy idealny wzór na pierwszą w życiu chustę, a jeżeli nie odpowiada Ci kształt - zobacz Albanettę trójkątną :)

Do zrobienia tej chusty można użyć dowolnej grubości włóczki, od typowej lace (800m na 100g) aż do worsted (300m w 100g). Druty należy dobrać do grubości włóczki oraz do wielkości ażuru, jaki się chce uzyskać. Ja osobiście lubię chusty bardzo koronkowe i aby osiągnąć taki efekt dziergam je na grubszych drutach.

Chusta na zdjęciu została wydziergana z Alpaki Dropsa, poszło na nią 150gr / 540m wełny na drutach 3,75mm. Jej wymiary wynoszą 208cm x 46cm po zblokowaniu.

Próbka ściegiem gładkim, po blokowaniu – 16 oczek i 23 rzędy = 10x10cm.
