Alder - by Ridge Knits

Alder is knit from brim to crown with simple repeating twisted cables inspired by the dark marks on maturing red alder trees. Alder is perfect to keep your head warm during a chilly walk through the forest.

Sizing:
Baby (Toddler, Child, Adult SM, Adult L)

Materials:

Yarn:
125 (150, 175, 200) yards of worsted weight yarn
(shown in De Rerum Natura Gilliat in “doré”, “poivre blanc”,
and “argile”)

Gauge:
Chart A measures 3.25 (3.5, 3.25, 3.5, 3.75)”
Stitches 1-14 of Chart A measures 2.5”
32 rounds of cable pattern measures 4” deep using larger needles.

Suggested Needles:
US #4 / 6 mm and US #8 / 5 mm (or as required to achieve gauge)

Baby: DPNs in both sizes or a long circular needle for magic loop method


All other sizes: 16” circular in both sizes and DPNs in larger size, or a long circular needle for magic loop method.
