I love wearing ankle socks, slippers or “footies” all year round but especially in the summer. This pair features a stitch pattern that my husband and I have named “the broken mistake”. It originates from the two of us trying to remember how to do a pattern we had both used before. We tried knitting it, but it didn’t turn out right. To our surprise what we got instead looked really nice, so I embraced the mistake and have used it to make these socks.
The pattern is written for size 38 (EU sizes), but includes instructions for how to make other sizes.
The pattern is available in Swedish, English and French. I would be happy to receive translations to other languages.
Thank you Mearacaera for the French translation!
ERRATA! I have noticed that the heel flap instruction can be confusing. The last stitch of each knit row of the heel flap should always be knitted, never slipped. This means that you may have to knit two stitches in a row even though the patterns says to “knit one, slip one”.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or comments on the pattern or if you need additional instructions. If you think you have found a mistake in my pattern, let me know as soon as possible!
Happy knitting!
