Alex Cross Purposes Beanie Hat
FREE for GROUNDHOG DAY COUPON: Groundhog
Feb 2, 2025
Reverse engineered based on the cabled winter hat worn by Alex Cross movie series, I endeavored to mimic as closely as possible the cables and sequence of the work. I think I succeeded and it is a very good representation of the work.
Starting with a tubular cast on, the work proceeds on the right side, after which the work is flipped inside out to work the body on the back side, which becomes the front, with the brim flipped up. This gives the impression that the work was done all on one side and the brim flips at the end, which as knitters, we know isn’t possible.
The hat fits fairly snugly, and finishes quite evenly to a smooth crown and peak.
Work is presented as both written and in charts for the brim and body cables. Decreases are written only (for now, they may be charted later). Tested and edited for clarity by five testers.
For very best results, follow the gauge swatch in the pattern. Work with a smoothly textured yarn with good twist in a solid color for the most effective cables.
