Alexandra Lace Scarf is a light spring or summer scarf that was born from from my love of combining colorful cotton yarn with lace motifs. However, I encourage you to play around with all kinds of yarn and various needle sizes to make the scarf uniquely yours. Alexandra is knit flat and bottom-up, from one narrow end to the other, and is contained within an all-around knit border. It consists of mirrored diagonal side panels converging on a faux-cabled center. This pattern is a perfect mix of lacy and structured.
I used fingering weight 100% cotton yarn, but you are welcome to use any weight that suits your fancy. Please keep in mind that changing your needle size and yarn weight will affect your yardage requirement. My sample used 392 yards of fingering-weight cotton yarn, and measured 55x11 inches when aggressively blocked.
The pattern is both written and charted!
