Alexis is a shopper bag with a simple rectangular shape. Using white, blue, and red cotton yarn, this bag is crocheted in an overlaid check pattern.

This pattern is so easy to crochet, and it’s a great way to use up small quantities of leftover in various colors. The ‘weaving’ stitches have an almost fabric like quality, which is less stretchy and more rigid.

I use a wax coated fabric with floral prints as lining, which means no need for interfacing. To recycle you can use old table cloth with nice patterns for example.

Fingering weight yarn, ca 100g (3,5oz) white (MC), 50g (1.75oz) each of red (CC1) and blue (CC2). 100% cotton.
