This is an easy reversible linen-stitch scarf, knit lengthwise. The color sequence is what makes the plaid!
Horizontal stripes are added after, using a simple overcast stitch.
This is a really nice project for the man in your life: it was so hard to find a plaid scarf pattern that was not knit in the round or doubleknit, so I wrote this one.
