Alicanto
Alicanto is the fourth of four patterns included in the Birds of Mythology ebook released as part of the Malabrigo Freelance Pattern Project for May 2012.
Who needs a new lucky sweater? You do! Alicanto, named after the beautiful bird of Chilean myth, is a top-down breezy cardigan that features light, lacy panels down the front. According to legend, the Alicanto, whose wings shine in the night sky with beautiful colors, brings luck to any miner who sees it. Will this sweater be your lucky charm?
This sweater is meant to fit across the back and have wide, flowing front panels. The back measurements for this garment, shown above, are from mid-underarm to mid-underarm (where side seams would be) across the back of the sweater.
Yardage needed for the sweater is 4 [4, 5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 7] skeins of Malabrigo Arroyo.
Note:
Sl1wyf, k1 are the 2 edge sts used in this pattern. They are the first 2 and last 2 sts of every row (RS and WS), including the collar.
All markers are slipped when you come to them.
