This knitted hat is part of my collection of patterns inspired by Alice in Wonderland. Alice Hat is a curiously delicate and yet simple project to use up that one special skein of solid, semi-solid, or tonal fingering weight yarn in your stash. The lace detail mimics the fall that Alice takes down the rabbit hole. Pattern includes written and charted instructions for lace.

SIZE

• Size 1: 20”/50 cm circumference by 10.5”/26 cm tall
• Size 2: 21”/53 cm circumference by 11”/27 cm tall
• Size 3: 22”/55 cm circumference by 11”/27 cm tall

GAUGE
24 sts + 28 rows = about 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch (St st)

NEEDLES

• US Size 3 (3.25 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needles
• US Size 3 (3.25 mm) double-pointed needles (DPNs)
• Or size needed to obtain gauge

YARN

• Republica Unicornia Pure BFL fingering weight yarn (100% BFL wool; 438 yards/401 meters; 100 grams/3.53 ounces per skein): 1 skein in color “White Russian”
• Or similar fingering weight yarn in color of choice, approximately 438 yards/401 meters total.
