This pattern is not for absolute beginners, it requires the ability to read your knitting and do a bit of independent thinking. Lace bits are charted only. That said, it’s not very difficult, and if there are any problems I’d be happy to help to the best of my abilities.

The odd sizing is because of how the lace raglans work. There are seven sizes in total, each 5 cm wider than the former.

I used malabrigo sock yarn, and for the smallest size I used 0.8 skeins, whilst size 3 took 1.2 skeins.

I came up with the basis for this design, the lace raglan sleeves, when designing a christening gown for my niece Anna. I liked the principle, but wanted to improve the design, so when my other niece Alice’s birthday was coming up, I sat down and made this for her.

This design is worked top down, with sleeve stitches set on waste yarn and worked later, and button bands picked up and worked last.
