Pattern contains very detailed written description as well as photo tutorial on how to make a body for a book/tablet holder as well as how to make and attach 4 types of eyes, ears, horn, main and nose for the unicorn. The Unicorn parts can be attached to my book holders but they will also be ideal for hooded cowls, hooded blankets, hats etc. Add on pattern contains of 9 pages and body A holder pattern 7 pages. If you previously purchased my Owl Book Holder Pattern don’t buy this pattern, buy Add-On only which is listed as a separate pattern at a lower price as the body pattern is exactly the same.

Due to using super bulky yarn this book holder works up very quickly around 10-20 hours depending on your skill level.

This patterns were inspired by my son. He’s not too keen on reading and I tried to encourage his somehow and make reading more fun. Towards the evening he was also complaining that he’s too tired to hold the book so I came up with the idea of making him something to prop his book on and that’s how the book holder series came about (new designs coming soon). This crochet holder is also ideal for resting tablets, kindles etc.

This book/tablet holder is not only a fun toy but also a very useful learning tool. After I’ve created this book holder I’ve found out that presenting reading or math material in a vertical format is conducive to better learning. That’s because the mind is able to process in a more natural manner of looking forward rather than looking downward.

Thanks to this holder your child can even have a drink while reading or watching films on their tablets! How cool is that?

Note: The yarn I used is UK brand. If you are based in the USA, good substitute of yarn is Lion Brand hometown USA yarn or any super bulky yarn that suggests 9-10mm hook.
