The purpose of the alien allies is to give children who struggle with change to have someone by their side, a friend to help with the transitions they face in every day life. This is particularly important for some children with autism.

The pattern itself uses simple techniques, is quick to make up, and can be done in any size yarn, from 4 ply to super chunky - the yarn you use will change the size of the finished alien. Just remember to change your hook size.

This pattern is a mix and match style - there are hundreds of combinations, and more will be added over time. Currently it has 4 body types, 4 arm types, 4 leg types, and several other features such as eyes, tails, ears. All the pieces fit together easily, and each alien can be made unique depending on how you choose to put together the pieces.

I’ve also included some standard combinations so if you don’t want to worry about how you are going to combine them, there are some pre-prepared for you.
