This pattern is 13 pages long and contains loads of photos to help you every step of the way. It is written in English, using American crochet terms.

You will need:

Yarn of your choice. Yarn weight doesn’t really matter - the size of your project will simply turn out bigger or smaller! I used Patons Smoothie DK Yarn (this is quite a thick DK yarn which is equivalent to aran or light worsted weight in other brands) and my finished alien measures approx 14cm tall. Ensure to use the same weight yarn for both the alien and the spaceship.

You will need the following colours:
Alien:
Black (approx. 14m)
Green (or glow in the dark yarn - see below) (approx. 39m)

Spaceship:
Red (approx. 80m)
Grey (approx. 25m)
Pale yellow (or glow in the dark yarn - see below) (approx. 60m)
Dark Yellow (approx. 5m)
White (approx. 3m)

Please note - The amount of yarn used will vary according to yarn weight, hook size and stitch tension so these measurements are only a rough guide.

Alternatively, you can substitute the green sections of the alien and the pale yellow sections of the spaceship with glow in the dark yarn which gives a really nice effect - I used Lion Brand DIY Glow for this.

You will also need:

A suitable size hook for the yarn you have chosen - I used a 4mm hook.

Toy stuffing.

Finer yarn or embroidery thread for adding the details to the control panel (I used red & green).

A small piece of Velcro to attach the beam of light to the spaceship (this is optional).

A piece of plastic canvas - the pattern will explain how to work out the size you need depending on the size of your project. I used a piece that was 23.5cm x 5.5cm.

Other tools you will need are a tapestry needle, some scissors and a stitch marker. You will also need a tape measure.
