The pattern has been updated to my current style in June 2023.

Alku is a relaxing, simple sock pattern, with an easy slip-stitch pattern on the leg to give a bit of interest. There are two options for the patterning included. Socks are worked cuff-down and feature a french heel. The length of the foot is completely adaptable.

Size:
S-M-L (56-64-72 stitches, 6.5-7.5-8.25” / 16,5-19-21 cm)
Foot length is adjustible.

Yarn:
Retrosaria Mondim (100% portuguese wool, 385m/100g) or other fingering weight sock yarn.

1 skein.

Needles:
2,25 mm (US 1) ) - 32”/80 cm circular needle for magic loop (or dpns if you prefer).

Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the right gauge.

Gauge:
17 sts = 2” / 5 cm (the row gauge isn’t important) in stockinette worked in the round (after blocking).
