You can crochet this cosy and comfortable beanie with a basic, affordable solid colour Australian 8 ply (DK/No.3 weight). For a special gift, a colourful yarn like Patons Sierra also looks lovely.

This beanie is worked top down in a continuous round, so there is no seam. The body of the beanie is entirely puff stitch, for a material that is warm but not tightly fitted and has a bit of slouch at the back.

The ‘All About the Puff’ slouchy has a shaped band made with camel half double crochet, which is snug fitting but still has some stretch and is not uncomfortably tight around your ears.
