All at Once Beanie is named after the appearance of several different styles of knitting all happening all at once in panels, creating a lot of visual interest and texture. Because of the panel design, there is a defined front/back to this hat, with a beautiful framed cable running up each side. While the design is fairly simple in terms of knitting skill and technique, it is important to have a firm grasp on how to knit ribbed cables. For ease of use, the pattern includes both written and charted instructions with notes on how to use the chart.

Skill Level: Intermediate - Knitting in the round, decreasing in the round, and knowledge of ribbed cables are required skills.

Yarn: Nordic Star Yarns 2-Ply Bulky (100% Fine Superwash Merino Wool; 109 yds/100 g): 85 yds/93 g

Needles and Notions: US 10/6.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needles and/or DPNs for crown decreases.
Notions: Cable needle, beginning of round stitch marker, optional secondary stitch marker to denote pattern repeat, scissors, tape measure, crochet hook or large eye tapestry needle for weaving in ends, optional pom pom.

Sizing: To fit head sized 20” to 23” in circumference, or adult size medium to large. Beanie has approximately 4”/10 cm to 6”/15 cm of negative ease.
Finished size: 8.5”/21.5 cm tall by 8”/20.5 cm wide.

Gauge: 14 sts x 21 rows = 4” x 4”/10 cm x 10 cm with US 10/6.0 mm needles in stockinette.

Notes: For a tighter brim, consider casting on with a US 8/5.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needle.
Switch to a US 10/6.0 mm 16”/40 cm circular needle at the beginning of round 10.
