All Points to Colour
‘All Points to Colour’ was inspired by the yarns from two Canadian yarn dyers.
First is ‘Colour Adventures’, which is dyed at the yarn shop where I work, A Twist of Yarn in Vernon, BC. The second is a yarn I’ve just recently found called, ‘All Points North.’ ‘All Points North’ comes from a yarn shop in the town of 100 Mile House, BC, named The Impossible Knot. Both yarn lines produce some amazing colours and I wanted to create a design that would showcase the talent of these Canadian makers.
I encourage you all to look up yarn dyers in your area and check out what they have, so we all can celebrate all things colour!
This pattern was created using simple stranded colourwork. The most any colour is used at a time is 3 stitches, so you don’t need to catch any floats! It’s a great pattern for those who are just starting out with colourwork.
Yarn Used:
- This pattern calls for DK weight yarn. I chose to use 5 colours, but the design can be achieved with as little as 2. For the sample, I used All Points North Divine DK in Rum Raisin (MC - 80 yards), Aqua Stone (CC2 - 30 yards), Chai Latte (CC3 - 30 yards), Coral Charm (CC4 - 30 yards) and Colour Adventures Nalo DK in Polar (CC1 - 60 yards)
